About Me

A random AI fish swimming through the post-AI world

Hi, I'm Ruiling Tan— a software engineer, builder, and thinker living at the intersection of AI, systems, and human society. I spend my days writing code and my nights thinking about what kind of world we're building with it.

Currently a Software Engineer intern at Google on an AI project, and simultaneously serving as CTO & CPO of an AI HR SaaS startup. I build things that push the frontier — from research agents to new programming languages.

What Drives Me

  • Building agentic systems that can reason, learn, and assemble their own tools
  • Designing languages and interfaces that blur the line between human and machine thought
  • Thinking seriously about the political economy of AI — efficiency, equality, and power
  • Writing about utopias, because imagining better worlds is the first step to building them

Outside of Code

I read political philosophy, debate economics, and care deeply about social justice. I believe efficiency and equality are not opposites — they're a design problem. When I'm not at a keyboard, I'm probably arguing about law and order or staring at the ocean thinking about LeoLang.
